Brent enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard in 2005 at 17 years old as a Junior at Newton County High School, where he went to Basic Training at FT. Benning, GA. After returning from Basic Training, he finished his Senior year and was shipped back to FT Bliss, TX, for Advanced Individual Training. From 2008 to 2009, he served as Presidential Security Personnel in Washington, DC, for President George W. Bush and President Barrack Obama. After returning from the deployment, he started working at the Joint Force Headquarters in Jackson, MS, before returning to being a Traditional Soldier. In 2011 Brent was deployed with Bravo Btry 1/204th ADA to COS Garry Owen, Iraq as a C-RAM operator. Brent served ten years before he got out of the Mississippi Army National Guard and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, and the Combat Action Badge.

In 2018 Brent Graduated from Columbia Southern University with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health. He started his career in Safety in 2018 at Food Manufacturing Company in Gluckstadt, MS, as the Safety and Sanitation Manager. In 2020, Brent, missing the camaraderie of the Army, sought out Veteran groups, reached out to 5th Squad to volunteer, and was voted in as a member soon after. In December 2022, Brent started a new position as a Safety Specialist at a cold food storage facility in Richland, MS, and is currently serving as 5th Squad’s Secretary.

Brent has two sons, Collin, 8, and Jameson, who is 3. He also has a dog named Nyx.
