About the event

In 2023, Lucus, a proud Marine who served his country, took on a 36-mile ruck march from Bay St. Louis to Ocean Springs to raise awareness for a cause close to his heart—Veteran suicides. This issue hits home for Lucus, who understands firsthand the struggles many Veterans face after service. While suicide is a complex issue with no single cause, prevention is possible when Veterans receive the support they need before a crisis occurs.

Now in its third year, Lucus will once again lead the March for Vets on November 8, 2025. This year’s event will begin in Long Beach and will end at 701 Craft, 701 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS. Participants will march alongside Lucus for 22 miles along West Beach Boulevard to complete the 22-mile route to 701 Craft. The 22-mile distance serves as a solemn reminder of the estimated 22 Veterans who tragically take their own…
