Daniel Truitt

SPC Daniel T. Truitt enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard in 2010 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was assigned to the 113th Military Police Company as a Military Police Officer. In 2011–2012, he deployed to Camp Buehring, Kuwait with the 113th MP Company and 112th Military Police Battalion in support of Operation New Dawn. During his deployment, SPC Truitt provided security operations at Khabari Crossing and escorted Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams responsible for munitions disposal from Iraq.

His military awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.

SPC Truitt earned a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security from Mississippi College. Following his military service, he spent eight years in contract security and currently serves as an Account Manager at Amistad Freight.

He and his brother, James Truitt, co-founded Ready Play Give, an online community that fosters fellowship among veterans who enjoy gaming and seek camaraderie. Their shared passion for service has also led to expanding 5th Squad’s international outreach and impact.

SPC Truitt resides in Mississippi with his wife, Jessica Truitt, and their daughter, Delilah.
