Justin Mayer

Justin Enlisted into the Mississippi Army National Guard in July of 2012. He soon after joined the Ole Miss ROTC Program and became a simultaneous membership Cadet and served both in the National Guard and as a Cadet. After 3 years as a Cadet and one short training mission in Romania, Justin Commissioned into the Mississippi Army National Guard as a Second Lieutenant. In this time Justin also became certified as a Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer and worked for the Water Valley Police Department. He also worked part time as an Oxford Police Officer on the Mounted patrol.

Justin was a Platoon Leader in the 1687th Transportation Company where he spent 2 years leading his platoon in missions all over the country. During this time he began working for the Olive Branch Police Department. He was then promoted to first Lieutenant and placed in the position for Executive Officer for the 1687th. It was here that he met Lee Stringer and became familiar with 5th Squad. Soon after he was Inducted as the 20th Member of 5th Squad since its creation by the founding members.

Justin now serves in the 155th Armor Brigade Combat Team and is the Assistant S4 (Logistics Officer).  Justin is currently Deployed in this position and serving his country where it needs him most.

Justin currently serves part time as a Sheriff Deputy in Forrest County where he volunteers his time on patrol in order to give back to the community and provide his years of experience in law enforcement.

Justin Holds a Master’s Degree in Logistics Trade and Transportation from Southern Miss, and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Ole Miss.

Justin is married to Laura Mayer a 100% Disabled Veteran who served in the US Air Force. They hey have 2 young boys Elijah age 7 and Bennett age 4.
