Zach grew up in Carthage, MS and is a graduate of Carthage High School, MS State Fire Academy, and the Holmes Community College - Emergency Medical Technician program.
He has been married to his lovely wife, Chelsey for nearly 6 years and they have a 2-year-old daughter. They currently reside in Brandon, MS and attend First Baptist Church of Fannin. Zach is a Team Member with Charis Men's Retreats and Captain at a local Volunteer Fire Department. He is currently a student at American Military University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in business. Zach enjoys serving the community and proudly lives by the moto: God, Family, Country.
Zach enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard
(MSARNG) in November 2006 and is nearing 18 years of service. He currently holds the rank of Sergeant First Class and is assigned to MSNG Joint Force Headquarters as a SR Human Resources NCO. He has two MOS's: Human Recourses
Specialist (42A) and Combat Medic (68W). Throughout his career, Zach served in numerous units to include: 112th Military Police Battalion (Deployed to Kuwait 2011-2012); HQ, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Deployed to Iraq and Bahrain 2014-2015); C Co, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Deployed to Central Africa 2015-2016); E Co, 20th Special Forces Group Support Battalion; MSARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalion; HQ, 1st Squadron, 98th Cavalry Regiment. Zach graduated from U.S. Army Master Leader Course, U.S. Army Airborne School, ARNG Recruiter School, ARNG Marketing NCO Course, ARNG SR HR NCO Course, ARNG Training NCO Course, Combat Medic Course and Human Resources Specialist Course.
Zach's military decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal; Army Commendation Medal (4); Army Achievement Medal (4); Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (2); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Bronze Hour Glass, Numeral 3, and M Device; NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 4; Parachutist Badge; ARNG Basic Recruiter Badge; Chilean Parachutist Badge, and numerous other service and state awards.
