In 2023, Lucus, a proud Marine who served his country, took on a 36-mile ruck march from Bay St. Louis to Ocean Springs to raise awareness for a cause close to his heart—Veteran suicides. This issue hits home for Lucus, who understands firsthand the struggles many Veterans face after service. While suicide is a complex issue with no single cause, prevention is possible when Veterans receive the support they need before a crisis occurs.

Now in its third year, Lucus will once again lead the 22 + 6 March for Vets on November 15, 2025. This year’s event will begin at the Pass Christian Harbor and will end at Government Street Grocery, Ocean Springs, MS. Participants will march alongside Lucus for 28 miles along West Beach Boulevard to complete the 28-mile route to Government Street Grocery.
