The Ruck for Rugrats was created by an organization called the 5th Squad. This organization is made up of a group of combat veterans who wanted to do something for children that are set apart during the holidays due to their illnesses. Much like veterans who often grapple with the isolation of their combat experiences, these youngsters can feel separated from the joys of the holiday season. 5th Squad endeavors to demonstrate to the young patients at Children's of Mississippi Hospital that they are cherished and never forgotten.
